I’m a former architect turned product designer. I work on big, complicated enterprise products and make them simple enough that I could hand them to my mom without explaining how they work.

A lot of my work starts by asking why something is harder than it needs to be. Why is one building spread across four different pages? Why does someone managing 100 buildings need 100 separate logins? Why are we showing customers a savings number they can’t easily compare to their utility bill? I dig into problems like these, rethink how the product works, and keep chiseling away until I’m left with the simplest version that works.

Away from my computer, I’m probably grilling something, fixing something around the house, or being confidently informed by a three-year-old that I’m doing both wrong.
